Company, organizers of Miss Imo Pageant
almost fought the CEO of www.otowngist.com, Chinedu Hardy Nwadike over a story the
later wrote about his event earlier this year.
According to an witness who narrated the tale which
everyone who witnessed it has kept secret to Eastern Naija Gossips, the duo had
met in one of the Imo State based designer’s office [name withheld] without recognizing
each other and when someone walked in and called Hardy the CEO of www.otowngist.com,
Chris Ikoku started flaring up threatening to fight Hardy.
Hardy on the other hand, sat down smiling, saying he does
not owe Chris anything because he contacted Chris on the said story only for
the pageant promoter to rain insults on him.
In the cause of the confrontation, Hardy also explained
that the story which was titled ‘How
poor management ruined Miss Imo pageant, as event ends 8:30am’ came to him
and the best thing he could do was contact Chris whom he described as not
having single respect for the media.
“He rained insults on me, saying I should go ahead and
publish if I like”, Hardy was quoted as saying.
Chris on his side, could not say that the story was
false, but was only flaring on the fact that even if his event ends by 10:00am
it is no body’s business.
He also said that he could have dealt with Hardy when the
story was published if not for the plea of one of the brothers of Imo State
Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha who advised him to ignore the story on the
basis that Hardy was just ‘small’.
Chris was quoted as saying; “I am mad ooh. Go and ask
about me, they will tell you that I am a very mad person and I have been mad
before coming into this industry so if you write any nonsense about me again, I
will make you pay through your ass”, he alone knows what that means.
Chris went ahead to threaten Hardy that if he writes
anything about him again, he will never see the light the next day and at that
point Hardy got angry but was said to have been calmed down by the person he
had come to see.
Hardy only said: “Bro don’t threaten me again because I don’t
like it”, and went back to the Sprite he was drinking.
It took only Hardy’s composure and maturity to avert the fight,
which could have become the entertainment fight of the year, while Chris on the
other hand was ranting in what the eye witness who had worked with him
described as his usual arrogant way.
Someone should
please tell Chris that as long as he has walked into the entertainment circle,
everyone is free to write about him as long as what they are saying is true and
he should grow up and stop throwing life threats on people especially media
practitioners before it is too late to him. If he thinks anyone has said
something bad about him, the court is there for him.
He should file a case against Hardy and make him ‘pay
through his ass’.
